I think "concentrate" is also a problem of reading. Most people can't pay their attention on what they are reading so they couldn't be able to understand well.
Jason, I couldn't agree more. I think most of us just can't find the time to read. But, the bottomline is to readlly become a good reader, you need lots of practice. It is only through reading that you get enough practice in reading. Canary, thanks for the comment on the blog very interesting. If you have any other suggested website we can use, do email me or leave a message Steve, "Word shortage" is definitely a problem for many second and foreign language learners of English. Teoh, You need to go down to the source and find out why you can't concentrate. Is it because you don't understand the words in the text?
YinG`Ting: Sometimes i feel like giving up when i saw a lot of vocabulary in a passage or book...haha..but i will try to be more hardworking by looking up the dictionary...
Ying Ting, Don't give up the minute you see many unfamiliar words. Read on and try to infer the meanings of the words from context. Chances are, if you read on, you will find that even without understanding that one word, you will be able to work out the meaning of the text. Good luck with your readings
Sometimes, I try to guess the meaning or find dictionary. But, it's only when I start read a book. After few minute, I feel tire and lazy to read more if there are too many vocabulary.

I think the biggest problem is new words.Something have some new words that we don't know, so we want to guess it.
Hau,
Guessing meanings of words frm context is a skill in reading. You need to have a lot of practice in this.
